The St. Kitts & Nevis Citizenship by Investment Program that started in 1984 is one of oldest programs of its kind. The program offers applicants a number of benefits. The applicant can include dependent children in the age of 30 and parents and grandparents over the age of 55. There is no requirement for the applicant to travel to St. Kitts and Nevis during the period in which the application is being made. The acquisition of a St. Kitts & Nevis passport is attractive because the investor will have visa-free travel to more than 100 countries including European nations, Hong Kong and more. Processing takes place within a four month period. As St. Kitts and Nevis recognizes dual citizenship there will be no need for investors to relinquish other passports held.
To qualify for citizenship in St. Kitts & Nevis, applicants must have no criminal record, be in excellent health and must have financial resources that prove that they as applicants have a high net worth.
There are two investment options available. The first is through a contribution to the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation and the other is through investment in real estate. Applicants have the option purchase government-approved property of a minimum value of US$400,000. They may also purchase shares valued at the same minimum amount in a real estate project with the condition that the investment must be maintained for a minimum of five years. As regards the contribution to the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation the following applies:
