Seaformiles, it’s 16,394 square feet of meticulously crafted, no expense-spared living space embraces a smorgasbord of design and art influences that somehow mesh seamlessly, a home that will possibly hold your breath at ransom. Island sophistication and luxury meet at the aptly named, Seaformiles.
The owner’s vivid imagination which made it easy to sell his ideas, like windows into the swimming pool and curved glass around the staircase. The international array of creative talent whose works are on display includes Gerald “Swah” Phillip, a master St. Kitts stonemason, Keelin Kennedy, an award-winning American designer on concrete furniture, Kate Spencer, the distinguished St. Kitts artist and Roche Bobois, the fabled French furniture house.
On a cliff side on the once-remote Southeast Peninsular of St. Kitts sits Seaformiles in the upscale, Sundance Ridge Development just north of the popular South Friar’s Beach, it’s an impressive mix of local and international expertise in its creation and execution.
The entrance of the foyer and dining room is a meticulously appointed Scavolini kitchen made of timber, glass and eye-catching red two-pac lacquered cabinetry, with a large central island that seats six and incorporates a rugged six-burner gas range that would make a professional chef drool. The spectacular dining room offers a huge concrete table which had to be manoeuvred into place, inch by inch, with the large crane. It was a nail-biting engineering feat which took more than a little confidence.
The beautiful gem offers a five bedroom five bathroom; the focal point of the 402 square foot master bedroom, with its high-vaulted timber ceiling, it’s an exquisite custom glass panel that serves as a backdrop for the king-sized Roche Bobois leather bed. The panel, 12 feet wide and nine feet high, was created by an art-glass fabricator in Florida working from a delicate painting by the St. Kitts artist, Kate Spencer whose originals adorn the walls of many of the villa’s impressive rooms.
The impressive home theatre was installed by a company from Atlanta, the electrical system, which includes seven miles of wiring, by a company from Barbados, with everything connected to touch panels throughout the house.
The infinity pool, for the record, is 80 feet long and the infinity element includes a view that lets you gaze for mile after mile after mile of the Caribbean Sea far below. Keelin Kennedy also created a concrete 14-seat poolside dining table for entertainment with family and friends.
